Species-appropriate rodent feed consists of fresh and dry feed as well as hay and straw. The intestines of small animals are very sensitive and need a lot of soluble fiber. Besides eating vegetables, these cute creatures love dry rodent food such as hay and pellets. Don't forget to make sure your pet is getting enough fluids. Rodents need regular tooth abrasion, which is ensured by dry rodent food and nibbling sticks.

A good ready-to-eat food should contain few components that have been popped up and pressed into colorful shapes . Instead, a high proportion of different types of grain, dried vegetables, herbs and few oilseeds, nuts and seeds makes sense.
